The Challenge

The communities in Guanacaste perceived an increase of the social problems that reflected in low performance in students and school desertion), besides a lack of appreciation to anything considered local which also caused a lack of self-esteem.

How to contribute to change this reality?

The Solution

As a part of the Social Responsibility Program "Creciendo Juntos", the "Soy la Bomba“ (I'm the Bomb) a campaign focusing on values was designed, for children and young people in the areas near the Peninsula Papagayo Project.

The campaign focused on teaching and promoting morals, acknowledging the importance of the legacy of the region, overcoming challenges, showing role models and convincing children and young people that they are "La Bomba"

The Results

The teachers in the communities consider "La Bomba“ a source of inspiration and motivation for the children, parents and themselves.
The campaign is associated with values such as responsibility, respect, leadership, commitment and self-improvement.
Children and young people want to be "La Bomba".
Thanks to the success of the campaign it has been continued in later years with lectures focused on environmental issues such as: proper use of energy, recycling, flora and fauna conservation, etc.
